Savannah Fire responds to fire in the area of Victory and Skidaway
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE] In a social media update, the Savannah Fire Department said the fire is under control.
WTOC spoke with Savannah Fire’s Trevor Jaha on the scene who said fire crews were sent to a commercial structure fire on Victory at Maaco.
Fire officials said a paint room in the back storage area caught fire, Savannah Fire knocked it down quickly once they got there. Officials say they are not sure what the ignition source was at this time.
Several vehicles were in the facility at time of fire. Officials said they were able to keep fire off vehicles for most part, but say there is some damage.
There were at least 10 vehicles in the building and about 10 individuals working in the building at the time, everyone got out safely.
Savannah Fire says business will be closed for a little, but the majority of the building is operable.
[ORIGINAL STORY] Late Monday morning, Savannah Fire said they are currently on scene for a fire in the area of Victory and Skidaway.
They ask residents to stay clear of the area.
