Savannah Cold Case reopens: Accused shooter in 2023 Yamacraw murder was 13 at the time
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Prosecutors say a Savannah teen was just 13 when he gunned down another teen in Yamacraw Village.
This all ties into the death of Terrell Harris back in 2023.
This alleged killer is 16 now. Laquian Dawson is charged with killing Harris by shooting him inside the complex.

Officers arrived around 2 a.m. on September 29th, 2023, at a crime scene.
Our previous coverage reveals detectives found Harris with gunshot wounds and took him to the hospital, where he died.
Fast forward 2 years and 3 months, the Savannah Police’s homicide unit continued to work the case and follow up on leads, specifically Detective Gause.
Detectives gathered enough evidence to present the case alongside the DA’s office to a grand jury recently.

That grand jury agreed with the evidence and indicted Dawson on malice and felony murder, along with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.
Dawson is in a youth detention center already in Florida, and will soon be extradited back to Chatham County.
He is being represented by a public defender.

It’s unclear the exact date he will be extradited back here but he will be charged as an adult and booked into the Chatham County Jail.
He’s due back in court in April. He will not be entitled to a bond.
