Savannah-Chatham County hosts Student Success Expo and STEM Festival
GARDEN CITY, Ga. (WTOC) -Savannah-Chatham County students learned about educational opportunities at the school district’s annual Student Success Expo and STEM Festival Saturday.
The event featured college and career information alongside interactive displays about different public schools in the district. Students and families learned about various programs available to them.
The expo included a Teddy Bear Clinic focusing on healthcare science fields. The event aimed to help students and families make informed educational choices.
“We want students to walk away with a choice. To let them know that they have options. That when they come and they enroll in our school, they truly have the public school advantage,” said Dr. Angie Lewis, executive director of the Office of College and Career Readiness. “Because we offer programs, especially our career tech program. Anywhere from engineering, manufacturing, computer science, cosmetology, culinary, you name it.”
The event also featured food trucks and performances for families.
