Sarah Hawkins Warren reelected to Georgia Supreme Court

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Sarah Hawkins Warren, the Supreme Court of Georgia’s presiding justice, won a second, six-year term on the bench Tuesday night, defeating former state lawmaker Jen Jordan in a race Democrats hoped to win in 2026.

Jordan - along with Miracle Rankin, who was challenging Supreme Court Justice Charlie Bethel - was endorsed by former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Jordan was hoping to continue a string of solid electoral showings from Georgia Democrats in last year’s Public Service Commission special elections and in the 14th congressional district, a seat formerly held by Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Warren was appointed to the court in 2018 by then-Gov. Nathan Deal, and won her first full, six-year term in 2020.
