POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - POOLER — A Rincon man was arrested after police say he exposed himself to women and children at 4 different businesses across Pooler in 30 minutes.

Clarence Wright, 37, faces nine counts of public indecency, child molestation, escape, and disorderly conduct, according to Pooler Police.

Authorities received multiple calls within minutes of the incidents.

According to police reports, Wright traveled from Sonic to Sam’s Club to Panera, and then to Ross, exposing himself at each location.

The first incident occurred at Sonic Drive-In, where police said Wright approached the ordering sign with only a shirt on and no pants. Video footage captured the entire incident involving a woman who was ordering with her three children.

One minute later at Sam’s Club, Wright allegedly approached a woman and her mother as they were leaving the store. Police said Wright asked if he could put her groceries in her car for money. When the woman looked over, his pants were down. Both women fled, and so did Wright.

Sam’s Club employees pulled video showing Wright asking for a job inside and soliciting people to load their groceries, according to that police report.

About 20 minutes after the Sam’s Club incident, Wright allegedly approached a woman at Panera Bread who was sitting at a table with her mother and baby.

According to police, Wright asked about the child, said he would like to have children himself one day, and reached out and touched the infant on the arm. He then lifted his shirt and exposed himself.

Three minutes after that, at Ross Dress for Less, police said a man was following a woman around the store. When the woman knelt down to pick up something she had dropped, Wright had exposed himself in front of her. The woman was shaking and crying when telling police what happened.

Police say they found Wright soon after in his car outside PetSmart. Reports said he tried to run when officers put him in cuffs before he fell, and officers caught up with him.

When officers spoke with Wright’s father, he told them he had let his son borrow his car to go to the bank. The father also told police that when his son does not take his medication, he acts strangely.

Wright is facing 9 counts of public indecency, child molestation, escape, and disorderly conduct.
