Richmond County deputies discover body along the Savannah River
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Richmond County Sheriff’s Office found a body along Riverbend Road that had washed ashore.
At 3:46 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office received a report of a possible floating body in the river near Riverfront Drive.
Deputies responded to the area and confirmed that the body had washed ashore along Riverbend Road.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office responded to the 100 block of Riverbend Road and said it is a male’s body.
The Criminal Investigation Division and the Crime Scene Unit also responded to the site.
This is an active investigation at this time, and there is no additional information available at this time.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
