Power restored after outage near Cottonvale Rd. impacts hundreds of Georgia Power customers
CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE as of 3:47 p.m.] According to Georgia Power’s outage map, power has been restored to those affected.
[ORIGINAL STORY] Cottonvale Road off of Highway 17 has been without power since 7:00 a.m. Friday morning.
The initial restoration time was 9:00 a.m. but when crews arrived to assess the scene they found wires down.
WTOC reached out to Georgia Power who told us the new restoration time was 1:15 p.m. as crews are still working to fix it. As of 1:35 p.m. Friday, their estimated restoration time online says 3:00 p.m.

According to the online outage map, 680 customers are affected.
Georgia Power told us the cause is currently unknown.
