Popular Tybee Island eatery fails health inspection
TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - A popular breakfast diner on Tybee Island scored a 57 in a routine Georgia Department of Public Health restaurant health inspection last week.
According to public records, The Breakfast Club at 1500 Butler Avenue went from a previous score of 95 (given on March 31, 2025) to a 57 after an inspection on December 12, 2025.
The health inspector’s report lists reasons for this downgrade such as improper cooking times and temperatures, multiple sinks lacking any sort of hand soap, and “observed rodent droppings in container of breading stored on main cook line above prep top cooler,” along with a mention of “partially moldy tortillas” being stored in the walk-in cooler, among other violations.
