Pooler PD confirms Arnold Street homicide, suspect in custody

POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 9:41 p.m. 11/1/25] The Chatham County Coroner’s Office identified the victim in this deadly incident as 48-year-old Montique E. Jenkins.

The coroner’s office said Jenkins was shot at least one time and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chatham County Coroner’s Office is in the early stages of investigations so no further information is available at this time, an autopsy has been scheduled.

[ORIGINAL STORY] Pooler police said they went to a home on Arnold Street at around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon for reports of a shooting.

Pooler police confirmed, “that there was one homicide and that there is a suspect in custody.”

According to police, the individuals were known to each other, “therefore there is no threat to the general public.”

This is an active and ongoing homicide investigation.
