Police rescue kitten from busy Beaufort bridge roadway
BEAUFORT, Sc. (WTOC) - A routine call turned into a heartwarming rescue for officers in Beaufort County.
According to the Town of Port Royal Police Department, officers were dispatched around 10:53 a.m. on April 28 to reports of kittens on the Russell Bell Bridge.
When officers arrived, they were able to safely secure one kitten from the roadway without incident. Officials said the kitten was not seriously harmed.
Police added a bit of humor to the situation, saying the kitten “invoked its rights” and refused to make a statement while at the department.
The kitten was later turned over to Beaufort County Animal Services for further care.
The department also shared video of the rescue, joking it may contain “dangerously high levels of cuteness.”
