Police Respond to Shots Fired in Fernwood/Parkwood Neighborhood
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah Police blocked off multiple streets after a shots fired call in the Fernwood/Parkwood neighborhood, just north of Savannah State University.
WTOC crews arrived just after 8 p.m. and observed a heavy police presence in the area. A neighbor told WTOC they spotted K-9 units on scene. Our crew also saw Savannah State University Public Safety officers active on campus.
Savannah Police say one person of interest is in custody and weapons were recovered. They say no one was injured and there was no damage to property.
Savannah State University described it as an off-campus shooting that is not connected to the University, and all campus operations remain safe and secure.
