by Shakuria Smith

MCCORMICK COUNTY , Sc. (WTOC) - Boaters planning a trip to Thurmond Lake will need to adjust their plans this week.

The Parksville Boat Ramp in McCormick County, South Carolina, will temporarily close beginning Tuesday, Feb. 10, as crews complete a patch repair paving project.

Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ J. Strom Thurmond Dam and Lake Project Office say the work is expected to take about two days, with the ramp anticipated to reopen by Feb. 12, 2026.

The repairs will address damage caused by Hurricane Helene and impacts related to cleanup efforts.

Visitors with questions can contact the project office toll-free at 800-533-3478 or 864-333-1100 for additional information.
