One pedestrian killed in crash on I-95 in Midway
MIDWAY, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 3:58 p.m.] According to Coastal News Service, citing a Georgia State Patrol trooper on scene, the pedestrian has been identified as 72-year-old Ceymour Thompson of Orange County, Florida.
Officials say Thompson had been reported missing by his spouse to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office the day before the crash. Troopers say the driver who struck him was a 58-year-old Florida man traveling with his wife from Ohio to Florida in a 2020 Volvo XC90.

[UPDATE 8:50 a.m.] The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on I-95 southbound in Liberty County on Thursday.
The man has not been identified yet.
According to a GSP trooper on-scene, he left his vehicle at around 5 a.m. on the left hand shoulder of the interstate and started walking south. Their early investigation reports the man walked past exit 76 in Midway when he entered the roadway and was hit by a vehicle.
The crash is under investigation.
