New traffic light coming to 204
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A new traffic light is coming to an intersection on 204 roughly one mile west of the I-95 exit.
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced that on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, activation of a new signalized intersection on SR 204 approximately one mile west of I-95 Exit 94 interchange in Chatham County will commence.
According to GDOT, a developer under a Commercial Driveway Permit has installed and bagged traffic signals and modify the median to improve mobility and safety at this location.
Message boards are in place to alert motorists to this new traffic signal location and activation date.
This signal activation is weather contingent and subject to change, GDOT says.
Motorists are reminded to pay special attention to traffic control devices, signs and posted speed limits as drivers become acclimated to the new traffic light on 204.
