New report highlights SCCPSS student achievement
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Data released by the state is highlighting increases in student performance on mathematics at Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, students also showed gains in science.
While math and science showed progress, student performance in ELA and Reading on Grade level did show decline across tested grades.
Some key takeaways from looking at local data include the following:
- Improved Proficiency and Content Mastery achievement scores in Elementary Mathematics (Grades 3-5)
- Improved performance in 5th Grade and 8th Grade Science
- District declines in Proficiency and Content Mastery achievement scores across all tested grade bands in ELA and Reading on Grade Level
- District declines in 8th Grade Social Studies and high school U.S. History
Th district plans to meet with the media next Monday, August 18th at 2 p.m.
District leadership will be available to share data and respond to any questions.
