New courts, playground upgrades unveiled as Meldrim Memorial Park celebrates grand reopening
BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WTOC) - Community members are invited to celebrate the grand reopening of Meldrim Memorial Park on Friday, May 16.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and marks the completion of major renovations and improvements at the park through a SPLOST-funded project.
Officials say the upgrades were designed to improve accessibility, recreation opportunities and overall park infrastructure for residents and visitors.
Improvements include upgraded on-street parking, new concrete pathways, renovated basketball and pickleball courts, new playground equipment and landscaping enhancements.
The project also included utility upgrades, septic system and well replacements, new fencing in select areas and stormwater and erosion control improvements.
Organizers are encouraging the community to attend the celebration and tour the newly renovated park.
