SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC)— Neighbors’ complaints led to a drug investigation and an arrest in Savannah’s Tatemville neighborhood.

The operation happened on Wendell Street, just off Interstate 516, where the street was blocked off while officers worked at a home.

The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) told WTOC at the scene the search was part of an ongoing drug investigation that began after neighbors’ complaints, and investigators said they had been monitoring the property for weeks.

WTOC saw officers searching throughout the property, including a shed behind the home. Police said one person was taken into custody, but they have not released that person’s name.

Officials also have not said what, if anything, was recovered during the search. Police said the investigation remains active and more information is expected Monday.

Police said tips can be submitted through the unit’s drug hotline at (912) 232-0402, and the service is anonymous, with no contact information required.
