Motorcyclist dead following hit-and-run on Chevis Rd.

GEORGETOWN, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 5/10 at 10:40 P.M.] The Georgia State Patrol says a motorcyclist died after a crash Sunday night at Chevis Road and Beaufort Road.

Troopers report an SUV entered the motorcycle’s path at around 6:40 p.m., and both vehicles came to rest in a ditch.

The motorcyclist was taken to Memorial Hospital, where they later died from a severe injury.

The SUV driver fled the scene and has not been found.
