Man injured in domestic-related shooting in the 2200 block of Utah St., says Savannah Police
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC)- Savannah Police responded to a domestic related shooting in the 2200 block of Utah Street at around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said when they responded to the scene, they found the victim wounded in the foot in front of their home. The initial investigation determined the victim was shot following a domestic altercation.
He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken a medical center for treatment.
SCCPSS schools under precautionary lockdown
The School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High School and Savannah Early College went on a precautionary lockdown due to police activity in the surrounding neighborhood, confirmed SCCPSS officials Wednesday afternoon.
Officials with SCCPSS told WTOC that The School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High School and Savannah Early College remained on lockdown through the rest of the school day since the suspect was not arrested.
The incident did not impact dismissal procedures at either school.
