Man dies after late-night shooting at Shell Point Apartments, police say

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - Port Royal Police are investigating a deadly shooting at an apartment complex that happened on May 15.

Police responded about 10:58 p.m. to a report of shots fired at the Shell Point Apartments in the 287 Midtown Drive area, authorities said. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers began CPR until Beaufort County EMS arrived. The victim was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, officials said.

Th Beaufort County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Tre Sean Reid, 23, of Allendale.

The investigation is ongoing.
