CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A man has been charged with murder in connection with a stabbing incident at the Hwy. 80 Walmart on October 23, 2025.

Previously, police said that around 5:50 p.m. on October 23 they responded to the Walmart where they found an 18-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations.

According to CCPD, the investigation revealed that an older man was leaving the Walmart on Whitemarsh with his shopping cart, when the 18-year-old kicked the shopping cart as he passed by.

This led to an altercation that left the 18-year-old severely injured, officials say. He later died from those injuries.

Now, the Chatham County Police Department has arrested and charged 48-year-old Delano Middleton with murder.

The CCPD says this charge is in connection with the death of that 18-year-old.

Middleton will be transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.

The Chatham County Police Department also says it will not have further comment on this case now that charges have been filed and the case is in the court system.
