Man arrested in connection to a series of northern Beaufort County burglaries
BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - 27-year-old Dante Doray Capers was arrested in connection to a series of residential burglaries that happened in northern Beaufort County.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said Capers was taken into custody Wednesday on four counts of burglary, 1st degree.
The charges stem from an investigation into multiple burglaries that took place over a three-day period from January 31 through February 2 of this year. Law enforcement said during that time, at least nine homes were broken into throughout Lady’s Island to St. Helena Island.
According to the sheriff’s office, in each case, “suspects unlawfully entered the residences, rummaged through personal property, and caused damage.”
Liquor, power tools, firearms, and other valuables, were among the items reported stolen according to law enforcement.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said this remains an active and ongoing investigation, and additional charges are likely.
