MLK parades and events across Coastal Georgia and the Lowcountry

by Shakuria Smith

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Communities across Coastal Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a packed schedule of parades, unity walks, and community celebrations.

From Savannah to Richmond Hill, and from Fort Stewart to Hilton Head and Ridgeland, organizers have planned events throughout MLK Weekend and on MLK Day.

Motorists should plan for road closures near parade routes, increased traffic around start times, and large crowds in downtown areas. Arriving early and using alternate routes is strongly encouraged.
