Law enforcement presence reported in Alma tied to federal investigation
ALMA, Ga. (WTOC) - The Bacon County Sheriff’s Office says it was not involved in a federal law enforcement operation that took place Wednesday morning in Alma.
Video shared with WTOC by a viewer showed a large law enforcement presence in the area, including a helicopter and an armored vehicle.
According to the sheriff’s office, the operation involved the Department of Homeland Security executing two federal search warrants connected to an administrative investigation.
Officials said there was no threat to the community.
