Large smoke plume visible near the area of Houlihan Bridge
PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WTOC) - If you are driving in the area of Port Wentworth you may see a large amount of smoke.
WTOC crews drove past the smoke plume earlier Monday. We reached out to Port Wentworth Fire Department who said the smoke is due to a prescribed burn just over the border at the wildlife refuge.
The Savannah Coastal Refuges Complex shared a post that Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive, Savannah NWR was set to close Monday for a planned prescribed burn.
