Lane closures interrupting traffic on US-17 as paving nears completion
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WTOC) -Paving work on the US-17 widening project is expected to wrap up Wednesday, ending temporary lane closures that have been in place during daytime hours.
Contractors are doing paving work that required a lane closure because of the proximity to traffic. To minimize traffic interruption, the lane closures are only in place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., outside of peak travel hours.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation said the project is on track to be completed by the end of the summer. Most of the upcoming work will not require lane closures.
