LIVE SANTA TRACKER: Watch NORAD track Santa’s trip around the world

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - On Christmas Eve, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is tracking Santa Claus as he makes his holiday journey around the world to deliver presents.

Santa can be tracked at home by watching the live feed above, or by going to NORAD’s Santa Tracker website.

People can call 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) to talk directly to a Santa Tracker who will provide Santa’s current location.

NORAD has been tracking Santa for 70 years now, a tradition that began in 1955 by accident.

A child trying to call Santa dialed a number printed in a newspaper ad. The call reached the Continental Air Defense Command Operations Center instead of the North Pole. The commander on duty answered and asked his team to check the radar for signs of Santa heading south.
