Juvenile Court, District Attorney’s Office now involved in Myers Middle School incident, SCCPSS says
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Myers Middle School BOE Campus Police are now coordinating with Juvenile Court and the District Attorney’s Office in regards to an incident at Myers on Monday, October 27, 2025.
In a press release WTOC just received, SCCPSS says “several students appear to strike and kick another student during an incident that occurred in the hallway during class transition.”
The district says school administration responded on Monday and “handled the matter administratively with disciplinary actions as outlined in our Student Code of Conduct.”
On Wednesday, October 22, SCCPSS says the Board of Education Police Department became aware of “a video that was recorded on an electronic device and upon review immediately initiated a full investigation.”
“Based on the initial report and the additional details that have been uncovered, Campus Police is taking further steps in this matter and is now coordinating with Juvenile Court and the District Attorney’s Office,” SCCPSS says.
While we cannot say more at this time due to the ongoing investigation and Federal student privacy laws, please know that the safety and security of our students and staff is our highest priority.
SCCPSS does not condone any act of violence and believes every student deserves an instructional setting that makes them feel safe and supports learning.
This behavior does not reflect the values or respect for others that we seek to instill in each of our students.
We ask that our parents and the community, while understandably upset at what is depicted in the video, please be patient while the investigation is conducted.
