Jasper County man arrested on child sexual conduct charges

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - A 45-year-old Ridgeland man has been arrested on charges of criminal sexual conduct involving a minor, officials say.

In a press release, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office announced that deputies and detectives arrested Norlan Salmeron on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, following an investigation into allegations of criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.

Salmeron was charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation and to protect the victim involved, the sheriff’s office says no additional information will be released at this time.

The JCSO said it remains committed to protecting children and pursuing justice for victims of crimes against minors. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
