I-95 traffic shift in Richmond Hill is expected to bring delays over coming weeks
RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (WTOC) - All three lanes of traffic will be shifted to the left on I-95 northbound at the interchange bridge over U.S. Highway 17 on Tuesday, September 9.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said this is part of the bridge maintenance project and maintenance staging plans.
People taking this route should expect delays as it’s scheduled to remain in place for the next three weeks. Overnight traffic will be reduced to two lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and possibly single lane traffic from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
They said it’s to complete bridge maintenance work that is necessary for the longevity of the bridge’s lifespan.
"Motorists are reminded that this is a work zone and are advised to reduce speed and exercise extreme caution travelling through this area. Message signs, barrels, and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes," they said in a press release on Monday.
