House of God Church in Pembroke celebrates 100 years

PEMBROKE, Ga. (WTOC) - The House of God Church in Pembroke celebrated their 100th anniversary Sunday with a worship service, historical reflections, recognition of city officials and music.

Members of their congregation shared more on what it means to be a pillar in the community for so many years.

“Today is the centennial celebration of the House of God Church in Pembroke, Georgia. This is what a community is all about. You have churches, you have schools, you have neighborhoods and we’re all coming together so that the community is stronger - that’s unity. We’re gonna have a great, joyous celebration - 100 years,” said Clary Butler Jr., Bishop at the House of God Church.
