Home for the Holidays: Service members win free flights home for the holidays
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The 11th Annual Home for the Holidays announced the winning service members who will get the chance to spend the holidays with family.
The announcement took place Tuesday evening at the Savannah/ Hilton Head International Airport.
For the last 11 years the airport and its partners have provided servicemembers with a free flight home to their family for the holidays.
This year, 8 service men and women were narrowed down from more than 40 applicants.

“It was very very exciting, we couldn’t believe that, you know, God blessed us for these guys - for her to be picked— lets just like, pray on this that it will work out for him, and it did. So, they dont have to pile in and save on him anymore --- this is a great christmas present, the greatest Christmas present, so we really appreciate that.”>
For the next few weeks the lucky service members will arrive from places like California, Texas, Poland and Guam.
This year the airport was able to sponsor an additional three service members.
