Holiday travelers deal with long lines at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The holiday travel hustle and bustle is in full swing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
“We’re traveling back to L.A. [We] stayed in Atlanta for the holidays,” Jacob Fluster said.
Some travelers said they’re closely monitoring weather conditions as winter storms and snow affect parts of the U.S.
“New York City, where we’re headed, [is] probably getting the worst part of it, but we’ll see,” Edwin Duncan said.
There were at least 544 flight delays and 28 cancellations at the airport as of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
People were moving fairly quickly through the TSA security checkpoint. However, some travelers were having more trouble checking their bags ahead of their flights.
Lines to check bags for Frontier were wrapped around the corner.
“I was like, dang, this is a long line, but it’s moving at an okay speed, so hopefully we’ll make the flight,” said Fluster.
Duncan said he would probably miss his flight without TSA PreCheck.
“We could’ve got here three hours ahead of time, and I still don’t think we would have made our flight, but I think we’re going to make it,” Duncan said.
