LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A Hinesville woman charged in a man’s death is out on bond while her case makes its way through the courts.

Aviance Lashay Walker was arrested by Hinesville Police on September 25th for a fatal DUI accident.

After 21 days in jail, she was released on a $20,000 bond while her case moves through the courts.

Walker is charged with homicide by vehicle-felony leaving the scene, hit and run resulting in serious injury or death, and felony tampering with evidence.

This is all in relation to a crash back on August 16th that killed 52-year-old Hughey Hoak. You can find coverage of that accident here.

Hinesville PD posted about the accident when it happened, asking for the public’s help.

The crash report reveals a car was traveling east on Elma G Miles Pkwy around 1 a.m. when Hoak was crossing the road and was hit. That car hit him and left the area without stopping.

There were no skid marks or other evidence outside of his shoes and a headlight, found on the roadway.

A witness was standing outside the Frozen Paradise Bar and witnessed Hoak crossing the parkway earlier in the evening, and then saw Hoak later get hit by that car. He told officers that the car left the area and turned onto Sharon Street.

Another witness was walking with Hoak across the parkway, and the car swerved and nearly missed him, but then hit his friend.

According to that same report, Walker was driving her mother’s car, a silver Chevy Traverse.

Conditions of her bond include that Walker cannot have any guns, cannot drink alcohol, or do drugs.

She is not allowed contact with the victim’s family of any kind either.

There is no next court date listed in her case yet. We will provide updates as they become available.
