Hardeeville launches Citizens Police Academy for residents

by Christopher Teuton

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WTOC) - The Hardeeville Police Department is accepting applications for its Citizens Police Academy, giving residents a chance to learn what it’s really like to be a police officer.

The program offers a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement through hands-on activities, interactive sessions, and real-world discussions about public safety. Participants will learn how officers serve the community and gain a deeper understanding of public safety operations.

The Citizens Police Academy begins March 3, 2026, and meets on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hardeeville Recreation Center. The program is designed for city residents who want to better understand law enforcement work.
