Hampton County man arrested again on drug trafficking charges in second raid at same residence

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A 51-year-old Cummings man was arrested on multiple drug trafficking charges after the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Ram Road residence for the second time in less than a year.

Brian Carroll Hayes was taken into custody without incident on February 20, 2026, during the search. Deputies seized a firearm and a quantity of illegal narcotics during the operation.

Hayes faces the following charges:

  • Trafficking methamphetamine or cocaine base (400 grams or more)
  • Trafficking in cocaine (100 grams or more but less than 200 grams)
  • Trafficking in crack cocaine (28 grams or more but less than 100 grams) — 2nd offense
  • Possession of more than two grams of fentanyl — 1st offense
  • Possession of narcotics in Schedule I (including LSD) — 1st offense
  • Possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime

Second arrest at same Ram Road address

The February arrest follows a previous narcotics arrest at the same Ram Road residence on May 15, 2025. During that operation, deputies seized illegal narcotics with an estimated street value exceeding $50,000, along with a firearm.

Hayes was charged in the May 2025 arrest with trafficking methamphetamine or cocaine base (400 grams or more, over 1 kilogram), trafficking methamphetamine or cocaine base (100 grams or more but less than 200 grams), trafficking in cocaine (28 grams or more but less than 100 grams) — 1st offense, and manufacturing or possession with intent to distribute other substances in Schedule I, II, or III — 1st offense.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible. The Hampton County Sheriff’s Office thanked the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the Yemassee Police Department, and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources for their assistance.
