SPRINGFIELD, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Springfield invites the public to celebrate the grand opening of Baker Pond Community Park on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. The park is located at 216 Courthouse Road and will reopen following a major renovation designed to enhance recreation and access for the entire community.

The popular park has undergone a comprehensive transformation, featuring brand-new playground equipment, upgraded restrooms, four new pickleball courts, and freshly paved asphalt parking. Outdoor enthusiasts will also find a new kayak launch, an enhanced boat ramp, a fishing pier, and a resurfaced, lighted walking trail.

Additional improvements include a dedicated dog park and new ornamental fencing, creating a polished and welcoming entrance for visitors. City leaders say the upgrades mark an exciting new chapter for Baker Community Park as a hub for recreation, relaxation, and community connection.

The park will remain closed until the grand opening, as final work continues ahead of the celebration. Residents are encouraged to attend, explore the new amenities, and help officially welcome the revitalized park back to the community.
