Girl scout troops give back to local school
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Three girl scouts from Richmond Hill are giving back to their community in a creative way.
Caroline Black, Natalie Anderton, and Emily Grace Huie are in eighth grade.
And they spent more than 60 hours designing and building a storage cabinet for the Outdoor Education program at George Washington Carver Elementary School.
Tuesday the girl scouts delivered the gift to the outdoor education teacher during the schools Earth, Arts and STEM night.
“They did a fantastic job. And we are so incredibly proud of their hard work,” said Kari Wilcher, outdoor education teacher.
“It’s nice to impact the community at such a young age, and to be able to like, make something that will, like, stay here forever,” said Caroline.
The students completed the cabinet as part of their Girl Scout Silver Award project.
