CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The King of Country is coming to Clemson!

George Strait will headline a Death Valley Nights concert, the first of its kind at Memorial Stadium in more than two decades, on May 2, 2026. He will be joined by country artists Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores.

Strait made the announcement official one day after he posted a picture of a Clemson jersey with his last name on his Instagram story.

“Going back to Death Valley for the first time in more than 25 years feels pretty special,” Strait said. “Can’t wait to see you, Clemson!”

Tickets go on sale to the public on Oct. 31. You can sign up for the presale here.

Strait also performed the last concert hosted by Death Valley, which was in 1999.

Earlier this year, Clemson University Athletics announced a partnership between Clemson Ventures and Does Entertainment to bring back concert events beginning spring of 2026.

Death Valley Nights is a concert series designed to enhance campus life by offering world-class live music events for students, faculty, alumni, and local residents.

“We’re excited to work with innovative entertainment professionals to deliver exceptional live music experiences at Clemson University,” said Graham Neff, Clemson’s Director of Athletics. “Memorial Stadium is a world-class venue for hosting events and this collaboration between Clemson Ventures and Does Entertainment not only elevates the cultural opportunities on campus, but also strengthens our ties to the greater Upstate South Carolina community.”
