Ga. woman celebrates holidays with 66 Christmas trees in home
ATLANTA, Ga. — Countless people found themselves in the same boat as Vicki Roberts and Yuvraj Rallaballi this Christmas Eve: waiting until almost the last minute to do some holiday shopping.
“I’ve come here a lot. I live close by and I’ve never seen this parking lot this packed,” said Rallaballi.
The Target in Midtown Atlanta was packed with shoppers rummaging through nearly empty shelves for whatever they could find.
“It is crazy. It’s crazy outside. It’s crazy inside, and they’re only open for another hour and the shelves are nearly empty,” said Roberts.
But while some are trying to get into the Christmas Spirit, Shasta Rodgers has more than enough to go around.
“This year I have 66 trees. So, it started out when my son was 2 years old,” Rodgers recalled. “I started out with one single tree and then after Christmas I went and got some 75%, 80% off. So, ever since then it’s been like, ‘How can I get more?’”
The 66 Christmas trees in her Buford home all come with different themes, and in different colors, shapes and sizes.

“I just like it. It’s such a coolness, the joy that I get decorating. It’s a stress reliever just putting them up and getting it all together,” Rodgers said.
And it’s all about giving, with the proceeds from the trees being shown off going right to charity.
“I do an open house for friends and family. So, they have to bring nonperishable food items or make a donation to the Fountain Church food pantry,” Rodgers added.
For her, there’s no better way to spend the holiday than in an ocean of festive decor, for a good cause.
“It’s a way of coming in and seeing the trees and giving back as well,” Rodgers said.
