SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia Department of Transportation is proposing to replace the existing “T” intersection with a single lane roundabout and an eastbound bypass lane for State Route 30 at Hodgeville Road.

They said it’s to improve operations and reduce crashes.

Georgia DOT is hosting a virtual Public Information Open House (PIOH) by posting information related to the proposed project on an online platform at https://sr-30-hodgeville-rd-roundabout-0018023-gdot.hub.arcgis.com/. The purpose of this internet posting is to replace an in-person meeting, while allowing the public to review the proposed project and provide feedback.

“The bypass lane is needed to allow for efficient operations of the single-lane roundabout. This intersection improvement project aims to enhance safety and trip reliability during the morning and afternoon peak hour,” they wrote.

Comments will be accepted concerning this project through Friday, October 17, 2025. Written statements may be submitted to:

Mr. Eric Duff, State Environmental Administrator: Georgia Department of Transportation, 600 West Peachtree Street, NW – 16th Floor, Atlanta, Georgia 30308
