GBI assisting Bloomingdale Police with Easter death investigation
BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a Bloomingdale woman after a shooting early Sunday morning.
At the request of the Bloomingdale Police Department, GBI agents are investigating the death of 39-year-old Paige Lewis of Bloomingdale, Chatham County.
Police responded to a home in the 300 block of Cypress Street at about 12:50 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting that Lewis had been shot.
Officers found Lewis inside the residence with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lewis’ body will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Pooler for an autopsy.
The investigation remains active.
