Future Bryan County High School eyes Fall 2029 open
BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Bryan County Schools is looking ahead to the future with the proposed opening of a new Bryan County High School in August 2029. This plan is outlined in the ESPLOST & Bond ballot question for the May 19th election.
If approved by voters, the new two-story school will be located off Payne Drive and designed to support students for generations to come.
The campus will feature:
- modern classrooms
- expanded opportunities in academics, fine arts, career pathways, and athletics
Planned facilities include a large band room, a new Redskin stadium with artificial turf, a weight room featuring a rock-climbing wall, a wrestling suite, and a baseball/softball complex with turf fields, batting cages, concessions, and a food truck court.
Students can also expect new tennis courts, an agricultural center, a two-story learning commons/media center, a conference center, and a variety of STEM and CTAE lab spaces, all designed to support student learning experiences.
These features represent some of the highlights of the project and are not a complete list of all items that will be included.
