Free wills clinic offers Brunswick residents chance to protect their future

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WTOC) - Putting off a will is common. Getting one for free is not.

Brunswick residents will soon have the opportunity to complete essential estate planning documents at no cost during an upcoming wills clinic hosted by the City of Brunswick in partnership with the Georgia Legal Services Program.

The clinic is scheduled for Friday, March 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at Old City Hall on Newcastle Street and is presented by Commissioner Dr. Gwen Atkinson-Williams.

Qualified participants will receive simple wills, financial powers of attorney and advance directives for healthcare, all prepared by a staff attorney. Leaders say the clinic is designed to help residents clearly document their wishes while protecting their families and assets.

Officials emphasize that access to estate planning can strengthen families and reduce uncertainty during difficult times, especially for seniors and residents with limited incomes.

Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Applicants must call 912-963-1793 or 912-400-2004 by 3 p.m. on March 6 to complete the intake process and schedule an appointment.

The clinic is intended for low-income individuals and eligible seniors. Those seeking additional civil legal assistance can contact the Georgia Legal Services Program for support.
