Free Comic Book Day returns to Savannah with special guests

by Shakuria Smith

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Comic book fans in Savannah will have a chance to score free reads and meet well-known artists this weekend.

Neighborhood Comics is hosting its annual Free Comic Book Day celebration on Saturday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its shop on Bull Street.

The event is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at introducing new readers to comics while supporting local comic shops. Visitors will be able to pick up free comic books and explore new stories, characters and creators.

This year’s celebration will also feature special guest artists Morgan Beem and Jorge Corona, who will be on-site for signings and meet-and-greets with fans.

Organizers say the event is designed for all ages and continues to be a highlight of Savannah’s arts and culture scene.

Free Comic Book Day also marks a milestone for Neighborhood Comics, as the store celebrates seven years in business.

The event is free and open to the public, but guests are encouraged to arrive early as supplies are limited.
