SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Several local organizations are coming together this holiday season to support those in need on Christmas Day. From toys for children to warm, traditional holiday meals, the spirit of giving is alive and well, and help is available for families who need it.

Old Savannah City Mission

Old Savannah City Mission will host its annual Christmas celebration December 25, 2025, offering free toys for children and a festive meal for all community families.

The event serves those with nowhere to go and no one giving them anything for Christmas, according to the mission.

Children will receive Christmas toys from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Children must be present to receive gifts. At 3:00 p.m., a special festive supper will be served to all guests.

Christmas meal and donations

The holiday menu features turkey and ham, dressing, yams, green beans, potatoes, bread and rolls, beverages and dessert. Volunteers will serve supper to guests and then join them for the festivities. To-go meals are also available.

The mission still needs donated toys for the Christmas celebration and food donations for the Christmas meal. Financial donations can be made online at https://app.securegive.com/oscm/main/donate/category.

Clothing and food donations can be dropped off at 2414 Bull Street. All donors are invited to see the Christmas tree at the mission.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army will host Christmas Dinner on December 25, 2025, at no-cost to families and people in need.

Dinner will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 3100 Montgomery St. in Savannah.
