Four Effingham Co. seniors named Georgia Scholars
EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods has named 162 graduating seniors as 2026 Georgia Scholars, including four students from the Effingham County School District.
The local honorees — Addison Fratino, Carson Foskey, Meredith Clontz and Riley McMillian — attend the Effingham College & Career Academy, with South Effingham High School listed as their base school.
The Georgia Scholar program, coordinated by the Georgia Department of Education in partnership with local districts, recognizes high-achieving seniors who exceed typical high school requirements through rigorous coursework, strong academic performance and leadership in extracurricular activities and community service.
Each Georgia Scholar will receive an official seal for their high school diploma and a graduation cord to wear during commencement.
Effingham County school leaders joined Woods in congratulating the students on the recognition, citing their academic achievement and community leadership.
