Fort Stewart gate access to adjust this month due to staffing shortages

by Summer Swanson

FORT STEWART, Ga. (WTOC) - Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield officials announced that gate access on Fort Stewart will change on November 16.

Gates 2 and 4B will close indefinitely and there will be limited weekend and holiday access at Gates 3 and 8.

Fort Stewart officials said this adjustment is due to staffing shortages.

See more adjustments below:

  • On weekdays, Gates 3, 7, and 8 will restrict inbound traffic from 5–9 p.m., though outbound traffic remains open; inbound access is available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Visitor passes will no longer be issued at Gate 4C—use Gate 4’s Visitor Lane or apply online at https://pass.aie.army.mil/steps/branch_selection.
  • Gate 1 remains open 24/7 and is unaffected by construction.
