Forsyth Park Fountain resumes operation Friday after months-long restoration
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A classic Savannah landmark will be returned to it’s full glory Friday when the Forsyth Fountain is turned back on!
The centerpiece of Forsyth Park was removed over the summer for renovation and the reinstallation began in September. Friday, the months-long project will reach it’s final step.
Ahead of the fountain’s reactivation, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and City Council will hold a brief program honoring the historic importance of the fountain.
Everyone’s invited to a celebration of holiday cheer at 10:30 a.m. at the fully reactivated fountain. There will be photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus in front of the fountain, light refreshments and holiday activities for all ages.
Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support the Toys for Tots drive to the event.
