Florence man facing charges after being accused of using ‘poop spray’
FLORENCE, S.C. (WIS) - A Florence man has been arrested by authorities after being accused of creating a foul odor at a high school.
According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, between Aug. 25 and Sept. 19, Alexander Lewis, a teaching assistant at West Florence High School, is alleged to have sprayed an odor designed to imitate fecal matter acquired online.
Using the spray caused disruption at the school and required children to seek medical attention for respiratory issues, FCSO says.
West Florence was also required to spend $55,000 for inspection and damages to the school’s air conditioning system, according to authorities.
Lewis, who is 32 years old, is being held at the local jail while he awaits bond. The situation remains under investigation, and additional charges could be filed.
